After the ride in 2006 I did various cycling challenges and then in 2009 decided to return to running and practice for the 2010 Comrades (soccer world cup year). Qualified in November and in December 2009 started feeling very tired. End of story - quadruple bypass in December 2009. With the grace of God I recovered and within 3 months I was back at work, training as well. During 2011, I participated in many running events including 2 Oceans (5 hours 20) and started cycling again, although just to keep fit. Late 2011 I ran the Golden Gate inaugural mountain trial - 71 km in 3 days. You can check out goldengatechallenge on the web. This year I ran the Loskop 50 km race and did a 1 day 150km bike race in our beautiful Lowveld area, and of course now looking forward to this little 10day adventure.
