Day 4 - George to Uniondale. 134 km Approx.

Today is a big day - the challenging Outeniqua Pass at 800meters above sea level will certainly test our legs. We'll drive to the bottom of the pass near the town of George before we begin the ascent where the views across the valley, over George and on to the sea are breathtakingly beautiful. Ever present across the valley, the original dirt track over the mountain, the Montagu Pass follows us.

From the top, it's a thrilling downhill as we re-enter the Klein Karoo region and its dry and undulating landscape. Uniondale is our furthest point east on this trip. The Little Karoo's best kept secret, Uniondale, is to be found in a surprisingly green valley, surrounded by hills. The Kamanassie and Kouga mountains watch silently over this little farming town and in the distance - mighty Swartberg becomes the horizon. We overnight in Uniondale.
